Changelog

What's new in OpenDisk.

OpenDisk checks for updates automatically via Sparkle. Install once and it will offer each new version when it ships. You can also download the latest release directly.

v1.2.0

Quick Look previews & faster rescans
  • Quick Look previews, just like Finder: select any file and press Space, or right-click and choose Quick Look. Arrow keys step through the list while the preview is open.
  • Rescans start much faster: checking what changed since the last scan now runs concurrently with loading the previous results, and gives up early when a full scan would be quicker.
  • The status bar now says what the scan is actually doing instead of sitting on a bare “Scanning…”.
  • Clicking a file now selects it, so you can see what Space will preview.

v1.0.1

Install polish
  • OpenDisk now offers to move itself into the Applications folder on first launch, so automatic updates always work.
  • Tiny download for existing users: this update ships as a 133 KB delta.

v1.0.0

Initial release
  • Interactive sunburst chart: hover any slice for its exact size, click to zoom into that folder.
  • Full-disk scans in seconds: results stream in live while the scan runs.
  • Incremental rescans reuse the previous scan and replay filesystem events, 20–28× faster than a cold scan.
  • Sortable, Finder-style folder list with breadcrumbs beside the chart.
  • Understands APFS volume groups, firmlinks, purgeable space, and system volumes.
  • External drives appear automatically when connected.
  • Automatic updates via Sparkle.
